Association pour la Promotion de la Santé, de l’Intelligence Artificielle et du Numérique
The Association pour la Promotion de la Santé, de l’Intelligence Artificielle et du Numérique - short APSIAN- is a Malagasy non-profit organisation founded in 2022 committed to research, public awareness, and initiatives that promote human health with the primary aim to promote young scientists in infectious disease research.
APSIAN is embedded at the Infectious Diseases Department at Tambohobe University Hospital, Fianarantsoa, Madagascar. With its president Prof. Rivo Andry Rakotoarivelo, APSIAN actively contributed to the development of several national strategic documents working closely with the Malagasy Ministry of Health and the national schistosomiasis program for the prevention and control on chronic forms of schistosomiasis, particularly FGS and liver fibrosis and additionally disease such as tuberculosis, the human papillomavirus and the human immunodeficiency virus.
Active in multiple international study consortia, APSIAN can offer extensive expertise in study implementation, disease prevention as well as awareness and knowledge facilitation in low-resource settings.
Role within WINGS-4-FGS
In WINGS-4-FGS, APSIAN will co-lead WP4 and contribute to designing questionnaires, drawing on its extensive experience in Madagascar. It will also help identify opportunities to integrate FGS services into primary healthcare systems in partner countries.
Prof. Dr. Rivo Andry Rakotoarivelo
“FGS represents a condition which can only be tackled in a health systems approach in cooperation with key stakeholders. Providing sustainable solutions and capacity building, integrated in the health system will enable long term improvement in women’s health.”
Together, we can advance science to bring better health to millions of girls and women.
